The TREATMENT of ovarian cancer.

The treatment of ovarian cancer usually involves a combination of surgery and chemotherapy.

1. Surgery;
-Removing only one ovary.
Where this surgery only remove the affected ovary together with it’s fallopian. This usually for early stage of cancer. This procedure may preserve the ability to have children.
-Removing both ovaries.
This treatment will need to remove both of the ovaries as the cancer affected both and the possibility to get pregnant is by frozen embryos or eggs or from a donor as the uterus still intact.
-Removing both ovaries and the uterus.
If the cancer is more extensive or if the patient don’t wish to preserve their ability to have children, the surgeon will remove the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the uterus, nearby lymph nodes and a omentum.

2. Chemotherapy;
This therapy is often use after surgery just like to kill any remaining cancer cells. Patients can get thus treatment either by injected into vein or directly into abdomen and also can take the drugs orally.

3. Target therapy;
Targeted therapy use medications that target the specific vulnerabilities present within the cancer cells. Targeted therapy drugs are usually reserved for treating ovarian cancer that returns after initial treatment or cancer that resists other treatments.

4. Supportive(palliative) care;
Palliative care is specialised medical care that focuses on providing relief from pain amd other symptoms of a serious illness.
